Background

With a rise in demand for premium bottled water, and greater awareness by Chinese consumers of the sustainability credentials of brands, Lofoten were keen to test the market demand for their premium range of waters.

Process

Starting with the team in Belfast, we worked with the client to prepare all marketing material, customs clearance documentation and organised samples for the team in Shanghai. The Belfast team also produced a series of videos in the Sinowei studios in both English and Mandarin to share via the main social media channels in China.

Market Feedback

While premium water is a niche space, Lofoten’s sustainable branding partnered with renowned Norwegian quality has been noticed. With restaurant “dine-in” restrictions gradually reducing, we anticipate a return in demand for premium, aesthetically pleasing bottles to become the key center piece.

Activity

The team in Shanghai exhibited the Lofoten products at four major trade shows in China, including CIIE 2021, and 2022. The team have agreed trial orders with an upmarket supermarket chain and a distributor in North China.
